Claremont Boys Middle School basketball wins the OAL championship
State championship coaches on hand for Final Four

Claremont Middle School defeated Edna Brewer 40-33 to capture the boys basketball championship Saturday afternoon at Oakland Tech. Claremont, the No. 1 seed, advanced to the title game by beating No. 5-seed Hillcrest 51-25 in the semifinals. No. 3 seed Edna Brewer beat No. 7 seed Montera 45-25 in the other semifinal.
Karega Hart, the head boys basketball coach at Oakland Tech, sat with Oakland High coach Orlando Watkins to watch the next generation of basketball players headed to Oakland high schools. This comes two weeks after Oakland high defeated Oakland Tech in the Northern California Division 3 title game.
Oakland High went on to capture its first state title in program history March 10 at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. The Oakland Tech girls basketball team also took home its third consecutive state title that night.
